This is the osmolality of your Custom Hydration blend when mixed in 20 ounces of water.
Osmolality is a measure of how much “stuff” is in your drink. If there is too much “stuff,” the solution in your gut will be too concentrated and your body will treat it like you just ate a cheeseburger. Your system will attempt to process it diverting blood and water from your muscles, which can result in gastric distress, dehydration, cramping, and worse.
Green (250-300 mosm/kg) indicates that your custom mix is perfectly isotonic, ultimate in absorption ability.
Yellow (between 300 and 325 mosm/kg) indicates a marginally hypertonic solution. The absorption ability is not as good as an isotonic solution, the addition of some water to dilute your mix further may be a good idea.
Red (> 325 mosm/kg) indicates a hypertonic solution and caution should be exercised. The addition of water is recommended or it may be difficult to digest and absorb this mix.
PRO TIP: To reduce the osmolality you can move the carbohydrate slider to the right, reduce electrolytes, calories or flavor.

I completed the Napa Marathon at 4:23. That was about a 35+ min improvement from last year (when I used GU gels only and had major quad cramping mile 22 last year, which probably meant I was under fueled).
For this year's marathon, I followed Colin's advice and took concentrated Infinit with me for the marathon (adding water from aid stations right after I took a drink of concentrate). It worked really well and no stomach issues at all. (I trained using Infinit but with much more water so going to concentrate during marathon was not that big of a system shock so long as I had the water right after.) I trained differently this time as well but I think Infinit really helped keep my glycogen up along with carbs and sodium that was needed, for the entire race. THANK YOU INFINIT for the performance fuel and advice!
