Jamie Hayes is a professional triathlete from Chattanooga, Tennessee, where he grew up spending time in and around the Tennessee River. That early connection to the water eventually led him to competitive swimming, and Jamie went on to build a collegiate career as a long-distance swimmer.

After his swimming career came to an end, Jamie turned to triathlon as a way to maintain fitness, with the long-term goal of one day completing an IRONMAN. He raced his first IRONMAN 70.3 at the inaugural Chattanooga event in 2015 and quickly caught the triathlon bug. While pursuing his master’s degree in Electrical Engineering at the University of Virginia, he became involved with the university’s triathlon club and continued progressing through the sport.

Jamie went on to complete several full-distance IRONMAN races, but his path to the next level was not straightforward. For multiple seasons, nutrition struggles held him back from the performances he knew he was capable of. After his coach recommended trying a custom INFINIT blend, everything began to click. Within a year of fueling with INFINIT, Jamie went from walking through 12+ hour IRONMAN finishes to earning an Age Group slot at the IRONMAN World Championship and qualifying to race as a professional.

Now in his fifth season as a professional triathlete, Jamie has completed 15 full-distance IRONMAN races and continues to compete across both IRONMAN and IRONMAN 70.3 events.
